Guangzhou Concord Cancer Center Education Fund of Medical Humanities Studies is initiated by the School of Sociology & Anthropology Sun Yat-sen University and Guangzhou Concord Cancer Center. It aims at encouraging interdisciplinary research of medicine and humanities, developing clinical medical humanities and harmonious physician-patient relations, and improving life quality. The targets of this fund are meaningful evidence-based and field investigation-based medical humanities studies conducted by academically potential students (including postgraduates, doctoral students and seniors) and young faculties..

Applicant Requirements
1 Senior graduates, postgraduates and doctoral students or young faculty members under 35 years old;
2 Students majoring in medical, nursing, anthropology, sociology, social work or other related majors;
3 The study topics shall conform to that of the medical humanities studies with a self-defined title.
4 All applicants shall fill in the application form and hand in the resume, and students shall hand in the recommendation letter from his/her supervisor.
Application Requirements
The education fund plans to support RMB 5,000.00 for 20 individual or team projects this year. The approved project will be granted 50% of the total fund, i.e., RMB 5,000.00 as start-up fund and the other 50% after submitting a qualified study.
The final field investigation report and related materials, including but not limited to photos and videotapes, shall be submitted to the Secretary of the education fund before 15 November 2019. The report evaluation session is scheduled to be held at the end of this November (the specific time will be notified later), on which authoritative experts will evaluate on each project.
Related reports and papers supported by this fund must be indicated with the word “supported by Guangzhou Concord Cancer Center Education Fund of Medical Humanities Studies”.
Application Time and Field Investigation Time
The application begins on 11 March 2019 and ends on 1 April 2019, and the approved project list will be published on 15 April 2019.
The field investigation lasts for 7 months, from 11 March 2019 to 15 November 2019, and applicants shall finish the investigation and submit the final investigation report within the stipulated time.
All the projects will be reviewed by the review group, and the qualified projects will be published in the official website of School of Sociology and Anthropology, SunYat-sen University. If the investigation report is not submitted on time and fails to meet the basic requirements, the project will be refused, the remaining 50% of the money will not be granted, and the applicant will be prohibited from receiving any grants related to this fund. Excellent investigation reports will be published collectively.
